GRP's 13th Annual Racing Trivia Contest has concluded

Welcome race fans to the lucky 13th annual GRP Racing Trivia Contest.  The 2012 edition will feature the three core divisions that have been a part of this winter tradition for many years.  The sprint cars will be making their 13th appearance, the late models are on the program for the 12th time, and the modifieds are returning for their 9th contest at the mythical MDTR Speedway.  You can submit an entry for one, two or all three divisions.  Prizes will be awarded independently for each division.  As usual, the contest is free to enter.  The contest will run from Friday night, January 27 and end at midnight on Friday, February 3, 2012.

The top five contestants in each division will receive either a U.S. Funds Postal Money Order or Cash.  First place champions will receive $100.00.  The second place winners will receive $50.00, the third place finishers will get $25.00, and the fourth and fifth place winners will earn $15.00 and $10.00.  Once I have verified the winner’s mailing address, prizes will be mailed out as soon as possible after the completion of the contest.

There are a combined total of 40 questions and photos in each division with some of the questions being multiple choice.  The photos require you to identify the name of the driver of the car in the photo.  The questions deal with trivia pertaining to the history of sprint car, late model and modified racing in and around Minnesota in addition to several questions pertaining to tracks, events or series on a more national level.  There is variety!  Some questions and photos are relatively easy while some are quite difficult.  Questions that are answered correctly and photos that are identified properly will count as one point.  The highest score possible is 40 points in each division.

Contest entries should be e-mailed to MY e-mail address grp_motorsports@msn.com which is also listed at the bottom of each division in the contest.  Please include your NAME and HOMETOWN with your entry.  Please do NOT send entries to Stan M.  Answers should be listed in numerical order according to the questions and photos in each division.  You are only allowed to enter ONCE in each division.  If you submit entries in more than one division, you certainly can send them in at different times.  I verify received entries by sending you a return e-mail with your score in the division you entered.  Updates will be posted on Stan's MDTR Message Board, over on Troy Power's 20/20 Racing Forum, or on Facebook from time to time, so you may want to check to see how things are progressing in each class.  We generally have a blast with the contest on the message boards.  Answers will be posted on Stan's MDTR website following the conclusion of the contest.
